High Rate Solid Contact Clarifiers HRSCC

When the Sedimentation tanks are designed for effective removal of colloidal impurities like In Water treatment to get desired Low Turbidity in the Overflow liquid the Mechanism of Recirculation of premature sludge blanket to accelerate the sludge formation is used & termed as Solids Contact Clarifier (SCC) This is a typical Pre-Treater Mechanism. When further the rate of Solids contact is accelerated for a higher rate of sedimentation is High Rate Solids Contact Clarifiers (HRSCC). INDOFAB High Rate Solids contact clarifiers are a compact unit occupying less footprint & capital cost as it houses; Flash Mixing; Flocculation and Clarification compartments within a single Sedimentation Tank. The Flash Mixer helps mixing/neutralization/flocculant mixing/Chemical Precipitation and the Turbine mechanism mixes the fresh feed with lighter sludge to recirculate making higher size flocs. The liquid now passes to the Flocculation zone providing retention time for floc. formation and finally the liquid enters the Clarification zone; In the clarification zone, the Clear supernatant liquid overflows through the high no. of weirs/radial launders of a combination of both. Solids contact clarifiers (SCC) popularly known are HRSCC (High Rates Solids Contact Clarifiers). These are enhanced version of Pre-Treater systems largely and widely used for very low PPM solids feed to further purify or reduce TSS for achieving extremely clear flow characteristics.
It serves as Flocculation and/or Chemical Precipitator with gentle flocculation and Gravity Sedimentation. It is a Unique and most advanced Clarification Equipment used by modern designers to enhance productivity with minimum Foot Print.

Advantages:
  • Less Foot Print.
  • Low Construction Cost.
  • 3 IN 1 Unit eliminates much of Piping, Instrumentation, Hydraulic level problems.
  • Lower Power Consumption.
  • Flexibility to Design for varied Flash mixing, Flocculation and Clarification Time required for the Water/Slurry.
  • Ease of Control over Mixing Dosage & Turbulence using Variable Impellor Speed.
  • Highest Rise Rate possible using appropriate Radial Launders.
